Whence dark den removed

Twixt track, town, and fruited fen

Box, garage, and van.

My newest love

I have a new love around the house. I am officially team electric blanket. Yes, it needs it's own team. At first I was team Snuggie, but then it just wasn't good enough. No, you see I live in the basement, and while summers are preferable down here, winters are definitely a hardship. So goodbye team Snuggie and hello team electric blanket. Hey! Do you think those two teams could reproduce and become team electric Snuggie? Maybe Snuggie already has done that? Who knows...

I want to tell you two things I love about my new blanket. First - it was 30% off at Target. Gotta love the sale! Second - it's made of that really soft, fuzzy, micro-fleece stuff that doesn't get instant pills on it the first time you wash it. There is nothing worse than pilled fabric when you have sensitive skin like I do. Now I think I shall end in a tribute to my new love.

*Edit* So this is really irking me. I was checking my feed reader in Internet Explorer, and none of the pictures were coming through. It made me so mad, so I wrote this little haiku. Then I thought, "oh duh, I bet it works in Firefox." Sure enough, the pictures came through for Firefox. How come Internet Explorer is so STUPID?! I'm Bothered.

What's for Lunch?

So here's the story. Yesterday afternoon, I hurriedly whipped up a batch of Hootenanny (German Pancakes) for lunch. I was in a hurry, because I had to go out visiting teaching but wanted to get lunch going for my family before I went. In my rush, I accidentally got eggshells in the batter, but didn't really notice until I was eating the leftovers today and crunched down on some. Needless to say I was grossed out. I had a bad lunch experience, and I'll tell ya, Hootenanny doesn't make for good leftovers anyway. Now I am feeling full of ickiness and just a little betrayed by my lunch choice. I think I need some cookies or something good to counteract the nastiness, or maybe I am just depressed and I want goodies. Hm, I can't really decide.

Have you ever eaten something that was less than appealing, and you had to eat something else to counteract the bad choice?

National Reading Month

Technology can be a blessing, until one tries to find new compatible parts for one's outdated equipment. When that doesn't happen, it's time to buy more stuff. I tell ya, it can be quite a drain on the pocketbook.
